FDA proposes calorie labeling for food establishments

The FDA on Friday introduced proposed rules on calorie labeling that would require chain restaurants to include the calorie counts of all items on their menus by 2012. The regulation would not include alcohol, and movie theaters, bowling alleys, airplanes and other establishments whose primary business is not selling food would be exempt.
