Food color is a matter of taste

The government found no proof that artificial dye causes hyperactivity in children, and studies show that color plays a critical role in food enjoyment. "Color is such a crucial part of the eating experience that banning dyes would take much of the pleasure out of life," said Kantha Shelke of the Institute of Food Technologists.
