N.C. district changes menu to comply with federal law

Officials in a North Carolina school district say they are making gradual changes to their menus, such as adding whole grains, to comply with the federal Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010. Child Nutrition Director Jonathan Haynes said he is worried that students might not eat the healthier options they are required to serve, but said the school nutrition professionals in his district will do their best to make the new foods appetizing. "It’s going to be a task, and we’re up for it," he said.
