Revised NCLB could increase focus on parental engagement

The approach to family engagement in schools nationwide has been inconsistent and fragmented, according to the Department of Education, despite a requirement under No Child Left Behind that schools receiving Title I funding use a portion of the aid for such activities. President Barack Obama's administration and others are seeking to increase funding for parental engagement under a revised law.
