Bone marrow transplant program is launched in western Mich.

Spectrum Health in western Michigan has begun an adult bone marrow transplant program, and the system expects to conduct 50 bone marrow transplants annually. Doctors will start with autologous procedures and plan to use donated stem cells later in the year. Tissue typing services and blood components will be supplied by Michigan Blood.
