Dodd-Frank deadline looms for energy companies

Barring an extension from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, April 10 is the deadline for derivatives end users to comply with Dodd-Frank Act regulations for record-keeping and reporting trades to swaps-data repositories. Some members of the industry are concerned they won’t make it in time. "End users have not been given adequate time to interface and test their systems with the SDRs, as full testing with end users did not begin until after the swap dealers began reporting in late February," says Meghan Gruebner of Sutherland, Asbill and Brennan.
