Trial begins for Seventh Sense's blood collection system

Seventh Sense Biosystems has initiated a registration study of its Touch Activated Phlebotomy system, a painless blood collection tool that the firm aims to eventually equip with diagnostic capabilities. The Cambridge, Mass.-based company hopes to have the device approved in the U.S. and Europe by the end of the year and will use data from the trial to back regulatory applications it plans to file midyear.
