Viking looks to shake up Mississippi cruising with Longship entry

The reign of the traditional paddlewheel-type ship over the Mississippi's waters is about to come to an end as Viking River Cruises has unveiled plans to operate a version of its Longship-class vessel on the Mississippi River. "The Mississippi project has come about following the research we do on past passengers' travel preferences. There is clearly a market there," Viking Chairman Torstein Hagen said.
