Hospital staff evaluate performance on creating a culture of patient safety

A report from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality includes data on a survey of hospital staff regarding their implementation of a culture of patient safety. Eighty-one percent indicated teamwork is a strength of their organization, 76% said supervisors promote patient safety and 73% said continual learning was a strength. Areas of potential improvement include patient handoffs and transitions, which 47% of respondents said was a strength.
