Los Angeles Recruits Career-Changers

Superintendent Roy Romer yesterday announced an initiative to recruit mid-career professionals to the teaching profession. White-collar professionals with a bachelors degree would be eligible for the Teacher Fellows program, which is part of the New Teacher Project, an organization that works with school districts across the nation. Fellows would undergo a six-week summer training session before entering the classroom.
