Union supports Florida legislation to set nurse-to-patient ratios

A union representing thousands of nurses in Florida is pushing for passage of legislation in that state to set a strict nurse-to-patient ratio in hospital departments and to ban mandatory overtime practices. Hospitals argue the laws could force some facilities to close, and they point to nine California hospitals that closed, citing similar legislation in that state.
