Bertelsmann wants to 'Net social space from clubs

German media group Bertelsmann believes social networking isn't just for teens and twentysomethings -- the company wants to convert its 35-million member Direct Group of book, CD and DVD clubs into a "My Space"-style site for older people. But Baby Boomers may not have the same desire to make new friends online as their younger counterparts, according to one skeptic of the plan.
