CEO calls for higher pay for food retail workers

The food retail industry needs to pay higher wages and demand employees who are worthy of them, according to Richard N. Jurgens, president, CEO and COO of Hy-Vee Inc. Jurgens gave a keynote speech at the Food Marketing Institute's 2006 Distribution Conference in Tucson, Ariz.
