HHS pushing for national momentum in health IT adoption

The federal government is promoting eight major initiatives to advance health information technology, including the adoption of electronic health records by physicians and hospitals and personal health records owned by patients. National Health IT Coordinator David Brailer is aggressively pushing his agenda to implement health IT initiatives, which he believes will revamp the health care system, improve quality and reduce costs.
