SIA, Fidelity lobby to ease pension fund rules

The Securities Industries Association and Fidelity Investments are leading a lobbying effort to save a provision in a pension bill that would make it easier to sell newer financial products to pension funds. Senate Finance Chairman Charles Grassley, R-Iowa, opposes the provision, which would involve the repeal of 30-year-old conflict-of-interest rules.
