Speculation abounds about private-equity groups going public

Since the private-equity giant Blackstone announced plans for an initial public offering last month, Wall Street has been speculating that others will follow. A number of people who are reportedly familiar with the situation say Apollo Management, run by Leon Black, is in talks with investment banks to pursue an IPO. The New York Times DealBook, however, says those are just the dreams of bankers.
