Deere sets sights on local manufacturing in Russia

Deere & Co. has revealed more details of its planned $80 million operations center in Russia, touted as one of the largest investments of its kind by a non-Russian company. The 322,000-square-foot facility outside Moscow will serve as a distribution and training center for the company's growing network of dealers in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States. With 98 acres available for development, Deere hopes to expand its Russian operations to include local manufacturing and assembly of construction and forestry equipment.
