FAA: Accidents decreased in Alaska during 2010

According to the Federal Aviation Administration, the number of accidents in Alaska dropped in 2010. The state saw 95 general aviation accidents last year. "There's just a tendency to think that's not going to happen to me, and some people get in their airplane they don't have their safety equipment with them," said FAA Regional Administrator Bob Lewis.
