$800M Kansas wind project breaks ground, will create 500 jobs

BP Wind Energy and Sempra U.S. Gas & Power held a groundbreaking ceremony on Wednesday for the $800 million Flat Ridge 2 wind project in Kansas' Harper County. The 419-megawatt project is expected to create about 500 jobs during construction. "The development of the Flat Ridge 2 Wind Farm is an important component to achieving balance in our country’s energy production and revitalizing rural Kansas," said Gov. Sam Brownback.
