Graphics market posts healthy growth, while PC sales lag

Although the PC market last year posted a 0.5% gain in sales over 2010, the graphics market increased 8.9% in 2011, according to Jon Peddie Research. Part of the gain came from Advanced Micro Devices and Intel bundling graphics processing units with their CPUs, increasing the number of GPUs in a typical PC. AMD and Intel gained graphics market share at the expense of Nvidia, which stopped supplying integrated chipsets, Jon Peddie noted.
