A+E Networks' emphasis on original programming continues to pay ratings dividends, with such shows as History's "The Bible" and "The Vikings" and A&E's "Duck Dynasty" among the most popular last month on cable. A&E is now focused on building the audience for the edgy drama "Bates Motel," which is in the vein of AMC's breakout hit "The Walking Dead."
