Most member nations miss deadline to implement Basel III

The Basel Committee on Banking Supervision says 11 of its 27 members met a January deadline for introducing Basel III rules for banks. Germany, the U.K., France, the U.S. and other leading financial centers have yet to introduce the tougher rules. "The committee believes that disclosure will provide additional incentive for members to fully comply with the international agreements," according to the Basel Committee.
