Sequestration halts promising research

Researchers are suspending studies as they wait to learn how much of their funding will be cut by sequestration, while others wait to find out whether their projects will receive any funding at all. The NIH's 2013 budget was cut by 5.1% or about $1.6 billion. Some medical schools, including Temple University, may cut jobs and accept fewer applicants into biomedical doctorate programs.
