Similar all-cause mortality risk seen in diabetes, CHD patients

Women with diabetes showed a similar risk of all-cause mortality compared with those who had coronary heart disease, a study indicated. Researchers noted a lower overall risk of coronary heart disease and cardiovascular disease in diabetes patients, but they also observed similar risks for fatal CHD, fatal CVD and all-cause mortality between women with diabetes and those with CHD. The results appear in Circulation: Cardiovascular Quality and Outcomes.
