CDC study links ciprofloxacin resistance to gonorrhea rates

There is a strong link between ciprofloxacin resistance and gonorrhea rates in urban areas, according to CDC researchers who analyzed surveillance data from 17 cities between 1991 and 2006. The report in Emerging Infectious Diseases said drug resistance could lead to future hikes in gonorrhea rates.
