FDA guidelines on device review communications finalized

The FDA has issued its final guidance governing typical communications between medical device companies and the agency during the review process for premarket approval, 510(k) clearance and other regulatory applications. The guidance, meant to reflect the provisions of two laws mandating higher FDA user fees, requires, among other things, more frequent communication between the agency and medtech sponsors.
