Neighbors seek to scrap trash-to-energy plants

Communities around the country are protesting plans to build urban trash-to-energy incineration plants, amid concerns that the plants could produce dangerous emissions. Officials say public concerns show the need for more demonstration projects and studies of the plants' safety. "We always welcome when people get involved in the government, and this is part of it, quite frankly," says one North Las Vegas city councilman.
