Contract between two companies delayed earlier peanut-allergy treatment

A protracted legal battle between Tanox, Genentech and Novartis illustrates the difficulties sometimes faced by companies that enter into drug development partnerships. When a trial for a potential peanut-allergy drug was halted amid accusations it infringed on the agreement between the three companies, patients taking part in the trial were taken off the drug, though it was showing promise in treating allergies.
