Mercedes Smart brand launch postponed

Mercedes-Benz is putting off the introduction of its compact SUV line to be marketed under the Smart brand until 2007, and has cancelled a review of the $20 million launch account. Independent agencies DeVito/Verdi and StrawberryFrog in New York and San Francisco's Venables, Bell & Partners reportedly were finalists for the business.
