More funds needed to combat bird flu, WHO expert warns

Governments around the world should be setting aside 5% of their spending on flu vaccines to speed research to combat the forthcoming global epidemic of bird flu, the WHO's top influenza expert warned. Meanwhile, another human bird flu case was reported in Vietnam, in a region where 48 people have been killed by the virus.
