Analysts: Time Warner spin-off of AOL unlikely -- for now

Although analysts' reports that Time Warner is mulling spinning off or merging its AOL unit with Google or Yahoo! have pushed up the parent company's stock price over the past few weeks, neither scenario seems likely for the time-being, according to other analysts and Time Warner President and COO Jeff Bewkes. But if AOL's ad-driven strategy begins to deliver on its early promises, Time Warner may review its options and could even decide to keep the unit, analysts said.
