Canadian retailers discover benefits of eco-friendly policies

Loblaw, Canadian Tire, Walmart Canada and other retailers in Canada have been touting their green credentials, including policies to minimise packaging and save energy. While the efforts are helpful to the environment, they also are beneficial to the companies' bottom lines. "The primary reason is that they have come to [recognise] that there are significant business benefits in doing so," said Mel Wilson, head of the sustainable business team at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Calgary.
