Exotic flavors, old standbys woo America's sweet tooth

Hard times have only heightened Americans' taste for sweets, with childhood favorites -- such as sundaes and shakes, micro-batch chocolates and other artisan confections -- and exotic flavors featuring olive oil and green tea among the latest trends. Salty sweets also are gaining in popularity, according to a Center for Culinary Development report.
