HTC sees strong U.S. demand for smartphones

HTC chief executive Peter Chou issued a bullish update on the Taiwanese phone maker Friday, saying its U.S. smartphone sales growth has outpaced competitors this year, a sign the company's brand name has begun to take hold. Chou also said that Apple's patent lawsuit against HTC has not had an impact on its operations. According to Internet reports, T-Mobile USA has again sold out of HTC's new HD2 smartphone, and the carrier gave no indication when it could replenish stocks.
