Congress is still clashing over budget as deadline approaches

President Barack Obama is asking congressional leaders to meet at the White House in order to hammer out an agreement on the budget that would keep the government from shutting down. Republican leaders remain doubtful that an agreement can be reached. Meanwhile, Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wis., chairman of the House Budget Committee, will introduce a GOP budget proposal for 2012 that eliminates more than $5 trillion over 10 years -- in large part by overhauling Medicare and Medicaid.
