Fuel costs cut into U.S. service-sector expansion, survey finds

The U.S. service sector is still growing, but the pace is slowed by rising fuel prices, said senior executives surveyed by the Institute of Supply Management. The institute's services index declined from 59.7 in February, its highest reading in six years, to 57.3 in March. Any number above 50 indicates expansion.
