Hookah smoking gains popularity among college students

An online survey in North Carolina found that 40% of 3,770 college students had smoked tobacco from a hookah, while about 47% said they had tried cigarettes. Researchers said that although 22% of hookah smokers reported they had not yet smoked a cigarette, they still face health risks from hookah smoke, which contains tar, carbon monoxide and other toxic compounds.
