More grocers promote health and nutrition

The obesity epidemic has forced grocers to rethink approaches to healthy food and nutrition, which can be seen in ingredient labeling and nutrition tags, in-store dietitians, health screenings and weight-management programs. Companies showcased their programs at the Food Marketing Institute health and wellness conference, including Skogen's Festival Foods of Wisconsin, which has dietitians who advise shoppers on meal planning, and Marsh Supermarkets of Indiana, which takes nutrition education to schools.
