Federal HIT panel examines stage 2 MU measures

Some HIT Policy Committee members at a recent meeting raised concerns that the stage 2 meaningful use proposal would compel qualified providers to gather data for 120 new measures to update their certified EHRs, when some of those measures may likely never be tracked by the federal government. The proposal did not adequately address care coordination, said David Lansky, chairman of the panel's quality measures workgroup.
