Firm is developing dual-rotor wind turbine for low-wind areas

Colorado-based Airgenesis is developing an innovative wind turbine with a dual-rotor system, writes Clayton Troxell, the company's senior vice president. The turbine could generate 11 megawatts at just 2.4 to 3.3 revolutions per minute, making it ideal for areas with slower wind speeds. Airgenesis expects to test its 11-MW design this year, Troxell writes.
