Woman who received PIP implants abroad faces high costs for removal

A woman who traveled from the U.S. to Colombia four years ago to save money on breast augmentation recently had her implants, made by French manufacturer PIP, removed after one ruptured. "Implants made in the U.S. do not rupture like this," said plastic surgeon Bart Rademaker, who added that the additional surgery costs mean these patients often end up paying more.
