Yes, it's possible to pitch a product too soon

The TV show "Everyday Edisons" on PBS provides plenty of examples of inventors who pitch ideas before they're fully developed, Carol Tice writes. For example, one person on the show pitched an exercise machine to a panel of judges without having built a prototype. Presenting an idea at this stage opens the door for others to steal your concept, and it doesn't inspire confidence in investors, she writes.
