Cendant buys Marriott's stake in Ramada and Days Inn hotel chains

Marriott International last week announced the sale of its stake in Ramada and Days Inn hotel chains to New York-based hotel franchiser Cendant for about $200 million. Marriott and Cendant formed a joint venture in 2002 to license the Ramada and Days Inn trademarks to U.S. hotel operators, and Cendant is acquiring Marriott's portion of the venture.
