Study: Minority depression patients benefit from intensive care

Minority patients suffering from depression do better when health care givers are closely involved in education and monitoring of medication and counseling, a new study shows. Not only did the gaps for outcomes between whites and minority patients narrow for groups that were monitored closely, but there was significant long-term improvement.
