"Pharming" is the new phishing

Online fraud is moving in sophisticated directions with the discovery of a scam called "pharming," in which DNS servers are targeted and legitimate Web sites are pressed into the service of online con artists. While the practice is not widespread and requires far more technical ability than the e-mail scams known as phishing, pharming has the potential to wreak havoc amid large numbers of users, simultaneously.
