Genetic tests may help predict prostate cancer recurrence

Genetic tests to predict the likelihood of prostate cancer recurrence have been developed by separate companies in San Diego and Berlin. One of the tests, by Illumina, helps determine the risk level of the cancer recurrence; the other test by the German company Epigenomics detects the PITX2 gene believed to help regulate hormones.
