Texas districts hard hit by Rita to get ratings reprieve

Texas educational officials have ruled that districts closed for at least 10 instruction days due to Hurricane Rita and those located in FEMA-designated disaster areas will be listed as "not rated" if their state ratings drop this year. State officials decided last month to exclude from the accountability system scores of students displaced by Hurricane Katrina.
