Von Eschenbach resigning from cancer post

Acting FDA commissioner Andrew von Eschenbach announced he is resigning from his other job as director of the National Cancer Institute, saying all that remains is to complete the paperwork. Von Eschenbach, who was nominated for permanent FDA commissioner in March, was the target of criticism from those who said both the FDA and the NCI need permanent, full-time heads.
