Although Aegis Group's Carat says its clients have responded favorably to its mid-2007 reorganization, the shop has lost about a $1 billion in business this year and hasn't won many new major clients. This article suggests that Carat's situation may have to do with the uncertainties surrounding the overall future of the shop, which reportedly could be merged with rival Havas, if the latter's chairman, Vincent Bollore, is able to gain control of Aegis.
