Geithner: Obama won't circumvent limits on executive pay

The Obama administration is not taking steps to create measures that would let firms avoid caps on executive compensation, Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner said Sunday. A report in The Washington Post had said the administration was trying to circumvent restrictions now being drafted in Congress. "We're also going to make sure that these programs are as effective as possible in making credit more available to businesses and families across the country," Geithner said after saying the published report was incorrect.
